Quawn is a virtual city, where teenagers can hang out and chat. Each person in Quawn is represented by a personalized character called a Quawn. It's an online social network with animated characters.
Is it safe?
Quawn is moderated during busy times every day by volunteer moderators. The moderators are fully trained and players can ask them for help at any time by clicking on the Quawn 911 button.
Conversations in all parts of Quawn are logged and can be monitored at any time without warning. Any questionable behavior will be available to be reported to the police.
Every conversation in Quawn passes through the word filter before it appears on the screen. This filters out swearing, racist and sexist terms and other words that are unsuitable or offensive or hurtful. It also filters out email addresses and phone numbers so that they can't be sent out. The filter covers Quawn names and statements, as well as dwelling names and descriptions. The filters are updated regularly.
In addition to these measures we also work hard to educate our members about being safe in the community and online in general.

Are my child's personal details safe with Quawn?
We have a strict Privacy Policy and will not share our users' details with anyone.
Why do you ask for my child's email address?
We ask for email addresses so that we can send password reminders and feedback should they have any problems on our site or be banned from the site for any reason. Residents can also choose whether they want to receive emails from us. In the case of a Quawn card sign up we ask for the real world address so we can mail the card. It's completely confidential.
Does it cost anything to use Quawn?
It is free to register and join the community - many of our Residents enjoy the service for free. We do charge for premium features like Quawn Premium membership and items that can be used to enhance the dwellings. These items are paid for with Quawn Qredits, the city's currency. Quawn Credits can be bought in a variety of secure ways through PayPal or by mail.
Can my child's Quawn Credits or online possessions be stolen?
Not if your child keeps their password secret. Someone else needs to know their password to sign into Quawn as them and take their stuff or spend their Tokens. There are always some users who will try to trick others into giving out their passwords, or other personal information. However, if your child keeps their password secret their account and items will remain safe. In addition if you do not have any anti virus software installed on your computer, you could be at risk from keyloggers. Those are files sent via email or instant messengers. Anti virus software is relatively inexpensive and can be purchased from many sources or even downloaded free online.
